Ardham Village - Silo Tower
I worked as Assistant Art Director early in the season on this particular set. I had no Set Design support, and as a result, I surveyed the property that was to become the Ardham village in the story by myself. I also did most of the set construction drawings. A Set Designer on staff eventually drew the top off the tower for the scenes that took place in that space. There were two components to the silo set that was eventually seen on screen. There was the portion that got built at the location and a matching Interior set built on stage for the tunnel sequence. The silo tower on location was only built to 17 feet in height with a cover by the Grip Department over the top to prevent rainfall from getting into the set. The full height of the tower as seen on screen was extended by the Visual Effects department in post-production.
